The comedy "No Limit" returns to the Théâtre du Splendid from April 5, 2024. No Limit, by Robin Goupil, is set during the Cold War, in 1964 to be precise.

No limit, following its success at the Avignon Off Festival and its tour of France in 2022, returns to Paris at the Théâtre du Splendid. The play will run from Wednesday to Sunday at 9pm, Saturday at 4:30pm and Sunday at 5pm , from April 5 to July 21, 2024.

No limit, nominated for the Molière for Best Comedy in 2023, is a slapstick comedy set in the past. In 1964, at the height of the Cold War, a group of American bombers received a message by mistake: to bomb Moscow. This mistake could mean the end of the world, and the bomber group must make up for it. The result is a zany, funny show by Robin Goupil, who also directs. The cast includes Arthur Cordier, Robin Goupil, Victoire Goupil, Martin Karmann, Maïka Louakairim, Augustin Passard, Stanislas Perrin, Laurène Thomas and Tom Wozniczka.

Robin Goupil's slapstick comedy, although set in the past, is closely linked with the present. The playwright is said to have been inspired by modern-day actors such as Donald Trump, Elon Musk and Kim Kardashian.

The playwright, who started out at the Cours Florent, became an academician at the Comédie Française in 2017. He subsequently joined the Royal Velours company and starred in Je m'en vais mais l'Etat demeure in 2018. He subsequently wrote and directed No limit in 2021.

No limit can be seen at the Théâtre du Splendid in Paris' s 10th arrondissement from April 5 to July 21, 2024.

Our opinion:

If you like wacky comedies, No Limit is not to be missed. We find ourselves plunged into the middle of the Cold War with two completely zany officers , an American president with major speech problems, a completely clichéd Russian president and other characters. The staging, very dark and sparse, works perfectly, with the director playing with lights to create a certain suspense .

The play's text is full of innuendos about our world today, from politics to well-known film titles. The roles played also remind us of some of the great figures of the real world, with each spectator choosing whether or not to make the comparison. It's a zany comedy that's sure to make your evening!
