This is an event that is sure to attract many street art lovers in Paris! Created by Antoine Roblot in Lyon in 2018, the Zoo Art Show is finally coming to the capital. For the occasion, the event, described as "an immersive museum of urban arts," has set its sights on theMaison de la Défense. It is here, in this building in the famous business district of the Paris region, that the Zoo Art Show invites street art enthusiasts to an XXL artistic event to be discovered from June 7, 2025. It was a huge and crazy challenge, but the Zoo Art Show team, made up of just nine people, managed to pull it off in nine and a half weeks! With visitors coming in nonstop since it opened, the Zoo Art Show's original closing date of December 21 has been pushed back to June 2026. So, the venue is going into overtime!
Just imagine. Over a surface area of 4,000 m², spread over four floors of this Paris La Défense building, visitors can admire the works of 500 Parisian, national and international artists. Among the impressive line-up are Darco, Jo Di Bona, Okuda, Gero, One Mizer, Bates and Zenoy. This ephemeral street art museum also showcases the work of several Parisian galleries, including Artkind, Brugier-Rigal and Taxie Gallery.
We had the opportunity to visit the Zoo Art Show in Paris La Défense before it opened, during a press tour organized on June 5, 2025. We tell you all about it!
It's just past 9am when we get out of the La Défense metro station (line 1, RER A, RER E). As always, the business district to the west of Paris is teeming with people. Especially at this hour. Fortunately, the Zoo Art Show is only a few meters away on foot. But you still need to find the right exit. If you take public transport, we advise you to take exit N°5 (Calder - Miró). Avoid the La Grande Arche and Dôme - Valmy Arena exits.
Once outside, we headed for No. 4 Place de la Défense. On this particular day, there's nothing to indicate that the Zoo Art Show is located at this precise address. The façade is plain and the building looks like any other in La Défense. Nothing, except those frescoes visible through the glass from outside. We are told, however, that signage will be installed when the building opens, to help visitors find their way around.
Inside the building, we're immediately immersed in the world of street art. We come face to face with the first work, a reproduction of the famous subway trains. And nothing is left to chance. Even the elevator doors are in the colors of the metro. We head up to the 5th floor. When the doors open, we're surprised to find graffiti all over the walls, floor and ceiling. Welcome to"Vandal Squat". As Antoine Roblot tells us during our visit, each floor has its own universe.
On the top floor, the 1000 m² Zoo Art Show explores the raw origins of urban art, immersing us in a squat atmosphere from the 80s and 90s. Neon lights on the ceiling, a mountain of bombs, old-school graffiti with lots of lettering and hip-hop music in the background... the immersion is a success! On each floor, a short video explains what awaits visitors. QR codes have also been affixed to a number of locations, enabling visitors to find out more about the artists.
On the 4th floor, the Zoo Art Show takes us into a visual labyrinth retracing the street art scene of the 90s and 2000s, with again some fine works by the likes of Mr Chat, Raphaelle Emery, Pimax, Adventis and Le Môme. A particular highlight is his sublime fresco, ultra-realistic and all pink! There are plenty of rooms to explore, and you'll want to keep your eyes peeled to make sure you don't miss a thing.
Next, head to the third floor for a more interactive experience and a space dedicated to digital, immersive, and more contemporary installations by artists such as the talentedInsane 51,Case Maclaimand his incredible anamorphosis, andBerthetOneand his giant comic strip!
Finally, on the second floor, the atmosphere is much less immersive, with an underground gallery featuring works by artists who have brought urban art into cultural institutions, such as JR.
After 90 minutes, we leave the Zoo Art Show feeling overwhelmed by what we've seen and eager to return to discover the latest completed works and those we may have missed. With its diverse creations, some realistic and others much more abstract, the Zoo Art Show offers a wonderful immersion into the rich history of urban art. Admission to the museum costs €15 (full price), but it should delight street art lovers and other curious visitors lookingfor unusual and uniqueexperiences.
Each tour lasts 90 minutes, giving you plenty of time to really get to grips with the place, even if you feel the urge to linger a little longer on certain floors. Tours are given in groups of around 50, and are organized randomly. For example, one group might start on the 5th floor, while another might begin on the 2nd. Once inside, visitors are free to move around freely, creating their own stories and adventures.
What about the opening period of the Zoo Art Show, which was announced as a temporary event? The immersive urban arts museum is extending the experience and has announced that it will remain at Paris La Défenseuntil June 2026!
In addition to this exhibition of works, the Zoo Art Showalso featureslive shows, entertainment, catering, 80 artist workshops, and 1,000 m² of event space. Several options are available (simple museum visit with a lunch option, "zoo afterwork," or "zoo workshop" for children and teenagers). So, are you looking forward to discovering the Zoo Art Show in Paris La Défense?
