What do Patti Smith, Lou Reed, Vanessa Paradis and Serge Gainsbourg have in common? All these artists were photographed by Claude Gassian, a specialist in the music scene. The photographer, who contributed to the birth of the rock press by working for Best and Rock & Folk, among others, has rubbed shoulders with Leonard Cohen, Prince and the Rolling Stones, with whom he toured on several occasions, as well as Patti Smith, Serge Gainsbourg, The Cure, Vanessa Paradis, Daft Punk, Mylène Farmer... From these encounters, he has drawn portraits, the most famous of which stand far from the stage.
This autumn, the photographer is in the news with the release of a book entitled'Patti Smith "Horses", Paris 1976'(Gallimard), followed by a free exhibition to be seen in Paris.
To be discovered at Galerie Rabouan Moussion, the " Ailleurs, Exactement " exhibition will unveil five ensembles by Claude Gassian, namely"Portraits","Tracés électriques","Pas","Autoroutes" and"Diptyques".

The exhibition runs in Paris from October 18 to November 22, 2025, when Patti Smith is scheduled to perform two concerts at theOlympia on October 20 and 21, 2025.
