Get ready to relive your childhood until March 5, 2026! This winter, the 17th arrondissement Town Hall in Paris invites us back to those carefree days of youth, where innocence reigned supreme. Titled "The Dorothée Years", this small free exhibition is curated by Lionel Gédébé, better known simply as Gédébé.
Starting his career as a comic book artist, working on iconic titles such as Métal Hurlant and Fluide Glacial, Gédébé joined the team of Dorothée Matin in 1987. Over nearly ten years, he became a key creator of her distinctive visual universe, using his pencils and brushes to craft a unique graphic style. Even after he stopped illustrating on the show's set, Gédébé continued to shape Dorothée's world—designing album covers, creating original comics for Dorothée Magazine, and even designing the stage set for the Zenith concert in 1986!
For nearly 40 years, original sketches by Gédébé have been kept under wraps, and this year they’re taking center stage at the 18th arrondissement City Hall in Paris. Running from February 3 to March 5, 2026, this exhibition offers a nostalgic journey into the artist’s distinctive visual universe. Visitors will rediscover album covers, posters, stage designs, music videos, and creations made for shows like "Récré A2," "Discopuce," "Club Dorothée," and some of the most iconic scenes from the Zenith. Come explore a collection of images that not only accompanied the era of Dorothée but also left a lasting mark on an entire generation.
As Dorothée prepares to return to the stage, notably at the Palais des Congrès in Paris, a charming new exhibition called "The Dorothée Years" offers visitors a nostalgic glimpse back at this joyful and carefree era.
