Attention to lovers of elegance and one-of-a-kind pieces: French hat-making is about to reveal its most exquisite secrets in Meudon. More than just an exhibition, this event is a tribute to handcrafted artistry, organized by the French Federation of Hat Makers (FFAC). It’s where craftsmanship meets vibrant chromatic poetry, taking place on the afternoon of February 28 and March 1, 2026.
Free and open to all, this event offers a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of artisanal craftsmanship. Join master hatters and milliners as they share their expertise in the Honneur Room of the Potager du Dauphin, located in the Hauts-de-Seine.
The core of the exhibition centers around a striking visual concept: a massive color palette featuring over 48 exclusive creations. Each artisan took on the challenge of interpreting a specific hue through two different pieces. Visitors can marvel at a city hat, designed for everyday wear, alongside a highly technical "couture" piece, showcasing a true mastery of craftsmanship and artistic flair.
This free exhibition and sale offers a perfect opportunity to acquire a certified piece that guarantees high-quality craftsmanship and ethical production standards typical of artisanal work. To add an interactive touch, live demonstrations will be held in collaboration with the Atelier-Musée du Chapeau. Visitors will have the rare chance to witness age-old techniques and craftsmanship: from the delicate shaping of felt using steam, to the meticulous hand-assembly of fabric flowers, and even the intricate work involved in feather adornments.
You’ll also get an exclusive look behind the scenes with the making of the hat molds, essential to creating each design. A colorful and creative detour that’s not to be missed as March begins.
