Contemporary artists imagine fairer, more sustainable futures in the exhibition Semons nos résistances, which is free to visit at the Maif Social Club from 17 October 2026 to 24 July 2027.

Fires and tsunamis, wars, dwindling resources, hate speech... The news can trap us in anxiety-inducing bubbles that wear us down and create barriers between people. Several contemporary artists reject these negative narratives and aim to reclaim public dialogue, imagining scenarios that are brighter and more united.

These artists reveal their work at the Maif Social Club, with the exhibition Semons nos résistances, to be shown from 17 October 2026 to 24 July 2027. Around fifteen French and international contemporary artists invite us to take a closer look at the world today and to imagine new ways of living together to build a healthier, more joyful future.

Photographs, paintings, sculptures, installations: the walk brings together a range of works, each telling its own story. The exhibition opens with a analyse critique of our crisis-ridden societies. Ecological, social, and economic crises: the invited artists cast a pointed gaze at the systems and the people in power in our world. Then comes the moment of struggle, of résistance. Several artists demonstrate the value of rebeller to safeguard life, nature, knowledge, and the good in human experience.

To this end, individuals and groups must prioritise empathy, solidarity, and harmony between nature and humanity, and between the past and the future. By letting our imagination unfold, we can envision futures that are more respectful and more hopeful. The course of the exhibit reveals examples of these worlds built on love, the protection of all, freedom, and joy... utopias that can take many forms.

Through this free exhibition, the artists deliver a hopeful message: we can end cycles of destruction and violence if we are willing to help one another and fight to change history. An intriguing message to explore in more depth at the Maif Social Club.
