A weekend with the golden lion tamarins at the Menagerie of the Jardin des Plantes in Paris

On Saturday August 2 and Sunday August 3, 2025, the Jardin des Plantes Menagerie invites you to discover the golden lion tamarins, a species collected in the zoological park.

To mark International Golden Lion Tamarin Day, the Jardin des Plantes Menagerie invites you to find out all you need to know about this small Brazilian mammal native to the rainforests of Brazil.

So, the caretakers at the Jardin des Plantes Menagerie have put together a great program to help young and old alike discover the species, its way of life and its characteristics. Preparing snacks for the animals, meetings with the caretakers, activities focusing on the conservation of the species... You'll learn all about these small mammals with their golden fur, emblematic of the Menagerie.

On the program for the special weekend around the golden lion tamarins at the Jardin des Plantes Menagerie:

• 2pm to 5pm: activities focusing on the biology and conservation of golden lion tamarins
• 3pm: enrichment preparation with the caretakers
• 3.20pm: meeting with the caretakers and distribution of enrichments
• 4pm: enrichment preparation with the caretakers
• 4.20pm: distribution of enrichments

To take part in these special events, there's no extra charge on top of the admission ticket. Admission is €13 for full price, €10 for reduced price (and for young people and children aged 3 to 25), and free for children under 3. Enjoy your visit to the Jardin des Plantes Menagerie!
