Readers of all ages are invited to relax with a good book on the quays of the Seine at the end of July, in an ephemerallibrary. From July 22 to 27, 2025, Ikea, in partnership with Le Livre de Poche and Bibliothèque Sans Frontière, is setting up its"Billyothèque", to encourage residents and tourists alike to come and sunbathe at the Port de la Gare, in the 13th arrondissement, to drop off and borrow books freely, and share their reading experiences!
Free of charge, everyone can browse the 30m of shelving and the thousands of paperback books available, including novels, mangas, comics, children's literature, classics and essays, enough to satisfy both young and old! You'll be able to swap one book for another, like a giant bookbox, accessible to all. The only prerequisite is that you bring a book you love to share a piece of your story.
Reading advisors will be on hand to help you choose your next book if you're undecided, from 10am to 8pm. At the end of the operation, all remaining books will be collected and redistributed by Bibliothèques Sans Frontières. Although seating is limited, you're more than welcome to pick up your book and take a seat on the adjacent quays of the Seine!
