The Paris cultural calendar is brimming with events, and for literature lovers, one of the highlights of January will undoubtedly be Les Nuits de la Lecture. This annual celebration invites us to rediscover the joy of reading through a wide array of activities, often free of charge, taking place mainly in bookshops, museums, libraries, and sometimes even in venues usually closed to the public. This year, the 10th edition will be held from January 21 to 25, 2026, under the theme "Cities and Countryside".
And when the art of sculpture meets a love for reading, it creates a poetic moment at the Zadkine Museum. Dedicated to the renowned Russian sculptor, this intimate museum transports visitors into a peaceful bubble, making the hustle and bustle of Paris feel worlds away, even though it’s located in the heart of the 6th arrondissement.
On Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., the Zadkine Museum will participate wholeheartedly in Nuits de la Lecture. To mark the occasion, visitors will experience a poetic walking performance. Julien Bucci, Margot Ferrera, and Sam Savreux will read poems published by the Serveur Vocal Poétique as well as writings by Ossip Zadkine. Attendees can listen to the poetry first outdoors near the museum, then continue their walk inside to see the Zadkine Art Deco Exhibition with a fresh perspective.
However, please note that though the activity (bookable in advance) is free, entry is only guaranteed with a ticket to the exhibit!
