Art on every street corner - that's the gift that street artists give us as we stroll along. A message that catches our eye, a drawing that makes us smile, a collage that leaves us speechless, and here we are, pulling out our phones to instagram these works, fast, before they see themselves replaced. If you never know what you might come across in an alleyway, here are some spots where you're sure to find something to feed your social accounts and immortalize these ephemeral works of art.
The Skatepark de Bercy is a place where skateboarders and street artists rub shoulders. The latter transform the place every day, covering floors, walls and ramps with their work. The spot is so popular that some graffiti can be covered the same day. An artistic transformation to be followed closely.
Another popular spot for street-artists is rue Henri Noguères, perpendicular to quai de Loire, a peaceful, pastoral spot where local residents like to take the time to make a detour to discover new works every day. As the spot is very active, it's not uncommon to come across street artists.
The Marais is also a favored district for street artists, with relief artworks the most common feature. While you can usually come across them at random as you stroll along, some places, like Place Igor-Stravinsky, feature large-scale artistic gatherings.
Street art can also take the form of a tribute, and that’s what you can see in the 7th arrondissement, on rue de Verneuil. At number 5, where Serge Gainsbourg’s former residence used to stand, the walls are regularly covered with works in homage to this iconic figure, himself a fan of street art.
