Three years after the opening of Umami Matcha Café, the first spot in Paris entirely dedicated to matcha green tea, the Umami team is opening a second establishment. News that should delight tea lovers!
Named Matcha Café To Go, this second spot opens its doors in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. Co-founders Laure and Jean Béguin have imagined a place that rethinks the 'food to go' offer, to extend the art of Japanese dining.
As a result, the coffee-shop spirit is now available in a takeaway version, but of course: always around matcha! On the à la carte menu, gourmands and gourmets will discover a new range of bento boxes (returnable, a good thing for the environment!).
Choose from vegetarian, chicken or poké bowl versions, accompanied by quinoa salad, konjac salad or traditional miso soup.
To finish on a sweet note, there are Umami Matcha Café's must-eats: lemon yuzu meringue pie, matcha cookie and matcha cheesecake to enjoy with a specialty coffee or matcha latte.
And before you leave, take a look at the delicatessen corner, to bring home plenty of good Japanese products!
