Le Bloom Café, a family restaurant in Saint-Ouen's Docks district

With its flowery front, pretty sunny terrace and spacious interior, this is a particularly welcoming address on rue Frida Kahlo in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine. Conceived as an all-day venue, Bloom Café retains the familiar identity ofa neighborhood café, while modernizing the concept with a menu that caters for all tastes, from morning to late afternoon.

Behind Bloom is a family story: that of Dounia and Ismahane, two sisters from Colombes (pictured below), who launched their first bakery in their hometown in 2011. "We wanted to open a business," explains Dounia, even though neither of them had a CAP in bakery-pastry-making, which was a real obstacle when it came to approaching banks. Ismahane then enrolled in a fast-track CAP course, graduating with flying colors, and went on to train at the prestigious École Ferrandi, working with France's best craftsmen... The project was born, with a bakery and home-made pastries that are all the rage in Colombes. Since then, the duo have embarked on a new adventure, opening their very first Bloom Café in Colombes in 2021: the chain now boasts three locations, with the last two in Saint-Ouen and Bois-Colombes.

"With Ismahane, we really wanted to create a place where people could come at any time of day to eat, drink a coffee, telework, go out with the kids..." says Dounia, who designed the menu to offer everyone a choice of breakfast, brunches, lunches, snacks or simply a smoothie or coffee! Teleworkers are also welcome, with plenty of sockets to charge your laptop and free wifi all day long.

On the menu, everything is homemade: even the bread for the burgers, and especially the pastries and viennoiseries. The products are as local as possible, the drinks are made in Nanterre, the coffee is roasted in Colombes and the menu changes twice a year to offer seasonal recipes. So, early in the morning, you'll find yourself at the Bloom for a traditional croissant-café, or to take advantage of the breakfast option (hot drink, fruit juice, pastries), to enjoy a bowl of yoghurt, granola and fresh red fruit, or an omelette, scrambled eggs and more.

For late risers, brunch is a must, with a formula that mixes savory and sacred, such as the unmissable toast with eggs Benedict generously topped with hollandaise sauce and smoked salmon, the Pink Rosace, a colorful waffle with beet hummus, feta, soft-boiled eggs accompanied by a small salad... À la carte, you can also opt for the fabulous burgers (from €12.90 to €13.90) cooked with 100% French meat and served with spicy potatoes. If you're in the mood for something fresher, we also offer large salads, such as Caesar-style or quinoa with avocado, chickpeas, etc. A lunch menu is available for €17.90, with a main course and dessert (excluding weekends and public holidays).

With a changing table on site, high chairs on loan and coloring pages to keep your little ones occupied, Bloom Café is undoubtedly a family and particularly kid-friendly address , especially as the children's menu is less than €10, (€9.90 including a salted toast, a glass of apple juice and a cookie).

If you're simply looking for an indulgent snack after an afternoon out in the Parc des Docks, the menu features the classic hot drinks (espresso, allongé, matcha latte, chaï latte, hot chocolate, cappuccino...) or, more refreshingly, smoothies, homemade iced teas, sodas, etc.

Of course, we don't recommend leaving without trying one of the excellent in-house pastries, prepared every morning by Ismahane! From the Bloom Bar revisiting snickers to the exceptional mango-passion cheesecake, Paris-Brest and gourmet cakes (carrot cake, façon rocher...): the range is mouth-watering and delicious, and this is one of the addresses we'd like to keep a note of in a little notebook so we can come back whenever we're in the area.

Whether you're coming as a family, with or without children, to telework, have brunch with friends or grab a quick lunch between work meetings, Bloom Café is the place to be in Saint-Ouen, and you'll feel right at home.
