There are places where it’s hard to tell whether you're stopping by for a coffee or simply to pick up some flowers. At Les Artizans, you might end up doing both! Just a word of caution: don’t confuse this cozy, flower-fronted coffee shop with the restaurant of the same name located on Rue Montorgueil, which offers full meals. Nestled in the 6th arrondissement in the charming Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood, this poetic, flower-decorated café exudes charm and tranquility.
Stepping into a charming little café that exudes adorable charm, you’ll discover homemade, plant-based pastries crafted by Cris Massana, the restaurant’s pastry chef. Made on-site and brought over every morning, these delights are visible from outside through a charming flower-adorned display window. Exquisite artisanal creations that change seasonally, inviting you to return often and try a variety of sweet treats.
Note that some options are gluten-free, and one of them isn't vegan. The menu doesn't always match exactly what's in the display case, so don't hesitate to ask Judith or Ingrid—they'll kindly help you find the perfect pastry based on your preferences. Visually, the desserts look particularly refined, and we've chosen two to highlight: the raspberry-almond-vanilla and the lemon meringue (8.9€).
Presented in beautiful handcrafted ceramic ware specially designed for the coffee shop, the first delight stands out with its crisp almond biscuit, its extremely light mousse, and the delicate tartness of fresh raspberries — a perfect combination that offers a melt-in-your-mouth, airy experience.
As for the lemon, it’s certainly geared more towards citrus lovers, offering a bold flavor. Yet, its sweet, spongy foam softens the acidity a bit, complemented by a crunchy biscuit that isn’t too hard on the bite.
At a coffee shop, of course, we pair our afternoon snack with drinks that can be made with either plant-based milk or cow's milk. First up is a homemade hot chocolate (€8.50), sweet and decadently rich, topped with whipped cream as we requested. We also enjoy a vanilla matcha (€7.50) made with delicate soy milk, with a touch of spice to prevent any bitterness.
There’s a wide variety of options to choose from—think matcha mango or crème brûlée lattes—catering to every taste! For those who prefer savory bites, the menu includes favorites like avocado toast, croque-monsieur, and a selection of quiches. However, we didn't get the chance to try these, and they are not listed as vegan options.
The cozy atmosphere of this spot is a genuine favorite find, though locals tend to visit more for indulgence rather than their daily morning coffee. Prices are somewhat on the higher side, which can be attributed to the location, the homemade touch, and the focus on plant-based ingredients. Nonetheless, they remain quite reasonable, especially considering the pastries — creative, delicious, and worth a special visit.
As you leave, treat yourself to a single flower — a small gesture of enjoyment for yourself or your loved ones, ranging from 1.5 to 3 euros depending on the bloom or a
You might be surprised by the crowd gathered outside the café, depending on the time of your visit. Its highly photogenic facade draws plenty of passersby looking to snap a stunning shot of the charming storefront and its beautiful flowers.
However, most visitors don't pause to indulge in the pastries, which is unfortunate for them. So, don't hesitate to settle in inside and explore this quiet spot away from Instagram filters — a place that delights both the eyes and the taste buds!
