Young Rivka spares no effort. While restaurants are obliged to close up store at least until February 15, the 26-year-old chef opens her restaurant Riv'K everyday, "to keep going and not lose her touch". She answers the phone and delivers herself, all the way to Kremlin Bicêtre!
His restaurant attracts crowds, especially on social networks, where his pain perdus are described as the best in Paris. And for good reason: regressive, generous, gourmet, we can't help but devour the Nutella or caramel French toast. We're sure to put on a few pounds, but that's okay. And if classic sweet French toast works, Rivka has come up with several savory French toast recipes, such as pesto, mozzarella and tomato confit French toast, or bagel-style French toast with marinated salmon, Philadelphia and wasabi. Her French toast is making the rounds on the Internet, and Rivka is even dedicating a tea room to it, due to open later this year.
But Riv'K doesn't just offer French toast, and boasts an Israeli-Japanese cuisine. We were tempted by the polenta with grilled vegetables and zaatar (15 euros) and its pita bread with poultry schnitzel, hummus and tahini (19 euros). Both dishes were tasty and comforting as temperatures hovered around freezing. I particularly liked the pita bread with poultry schnitzel, which was a delight.
Rivka also offers critically acclaimed caramelized eggplant with spicy satay, topped with tofu and onion chips. We also saw breaded burrata, which was sold out the day we came. This restaurant is definitely worth a try, at home or on the spot, we recommend it!
PS: during the first lockdown, Rivka revealed her recipe for homemade French toast- give it a try!
