In front of the inverted pyramid of the Carrousel du Louvre, the famous artist Richard Orlinski has set up his chocolate café until February 28, 2025, for a gourmet break.

You've probably already seen Richard Orlinski 's angular sculptures in the streets of Paris, including the famous colorful gorilla. This time, he's installing not new sculptures but an ephemeral café, open until February 28, 2025, in the heart of the Carrousel du Louvre, just opposite the inverted pyramid.

In this small, brightly-colored, urban space, contemporary art and gourmet delights mingle, with a fine selection of pastries inspired by his works, chocolate and coffee.

For a gourmet break before or after an exhibition, try one of chef Julien Dechenaud's culinary creations, which look just as sheared as the artist's sculptures. We were able to sample a few items from the menu, and the café's highlight is clearly its chocolate. If you're a big fan, you'll find delicious Kong bars, crunch bars and marshmallows, with a particular fondness for praline.

The hot chocolate, available in several versions, including pistachio and hazelnut, is also a must-try, very gourmand and tasty. While we didn't test the coffees, they are sourced in Ethiopia and Congo, and are plentiful on the menu, with a signature version with cascara syrup. Coffee beans are also available for direct purchase if you've enjoyed your tasting!

On the pastry side, you'll find cakes and cookies in many flavors, as well as entremets, the latter often quite hearty and generous in cream, a little heavy if you've eaten before, but suitable if you're feeling hungry. As for the passion fruit cake, it turned out to be much more light and digestible, and the raspberry and white chocolate cake was a nice surprise, although the sugar was more present than the fruit, for a price of 9 euros.

A chance to immerse yourself in the artist's world over a snack, despite the rather high prices, due as much to the artist's name as to the café's location.
