A Disco Soupe against food waste? That's what Top Chef Jean Covillault is proposing this Saturday, March 29, 2025, to close his short-lived restaurant "Des restes" at La Communale in Saint-Ouen. What if you were among the 1,200 guests taking part in this festive event, enlivened by a disco DJ set?

Get out your diary and make a reservation! This Saturday, March 29, 2025, the Communale de Saint-Ouen will be vibrating to the rhythm of a festive event organized by Michelin-starred chef Jean Covillault. Known for his commitment to combating food waste and his participation in the TV show Top Chef, the chef will be hosting a giant Disco Soupe, a unique event where food, music and sharing come together to raise public awareness of an essential cause.

For the record, Jean Covillault has made a name for himself thanks to his culinary talent and his committed vision of gastronomy. After making a name for himself when he took part in Top Chef, he went on to launch a number of initiatives to promote responsible, anti-gaspi cuisine . His short-lived "Des Restes" residency, during which he served nearly 2,400 meals at 22 euros from unsold produce, was a resounding success. With this Disco Soupe, he brings his adventure at the Communale de Saint-Ouen to a close with a gourmet, festive and solidarity-based experience.

An anti-gaspi and solidarity initiative

In collaboration with Nous anti-gaspi, France's leading network of grocery stores committed to reducing food waste, Jean Covillault will transform 450 kilos of discarded vegetables into a giant soup. These vegetables, deemed too "ugly" for conventional distribution channels, will find a second life thanks to this initiative. The aim is to raise public awareness of the fight against food waste, while celebrating the pleasure of cooking and sharing a meal together.

On the program: peeling, mixing and dancing!

The event will take place in two stages. Starting at 5pm, a collective peeling session will bring together 500 volunteers, who are invited to bring their peelers to prepare the vegetables in a friendly, musical atmosphere. At 7pm, it's time for the tasting! 1200 guests, perhaps including you, will be able to savor the generous soup prepared together, all in a disco atmosphere enlivened by an energetic DJ set. An evening of peeling, mixing and dancing for a good cause: avoiding waste!

Join us on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 5pm to midnight, at Le Communale de Saint-Ouen, 10 bis Rue de l'Hippodrome, 93400 Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine. Reservations are compulsory and cost €5, a mere pittance to take part in this unique evening. 2 tickets are on sale, Ticket 1 - vegetable peeling, soup making and tasting starting at 5pm for 5€ (bring your peeler) and Ticket 2 - soup tasting only - starting at 6:30pm for 5€. The purchase of a ticket gives access to a drink at the bar (choice of half beer, glass of wine or soft drink) on presentation of the ticket!

Between collective peeling, soup tasting and a disco atmosphere, this unusual Disco Soupe is sure to leave a lasting impression. Jean Covillault invites us to share, dance and get involved in the fight against food waste, all in a festive and supportive atmosphere. So, are you ready to join the movement?
