Giovanna : the trattoria in Batignolles that smells like Italy

Notice to all lovers of sweet Italian flavors. Head for the Batignolles district in Paris to discover Giovanna, the new trattoria of the Clan des Mama. On the menu? A colorful and relaxed place, a generous and gourmet cuisine and clever drinks to enjoy an aperitivo like in Italy!

In Paris, there is no lack of Italian addresses. From the most unusual to the traditional, not to mention the unmissable... restaurants that pay tribute to the tasty products of the boot are numerous. There are also the new trattorias that intend to make a place for themselves in the landscape of good Italian cuisine in Paris.

Among them, there is Giovanna. The latest addition to the Clan des Mama, this new restaurant opened in early 2023 in the heart of the Batignolles district, in the 17th arrondissement. And Giovanna displays all the essential codes of a real trattoria: a colorful decoration with arelaxed atmosphere where Italian alcohols are proudly lined up not far from the bar, a generous and tempting menu with many words in Italian, a nice pizza menu, antipasti (arancini tartufo, bruschetta pomodorini, squid à la romaine...), without forgetting a selection of clever Italian beverages (7 different Spritzs) and wines from the boot.

In the kitchen, Chef Alfredo Piccirillo makes our taste buds quiver with his 100% Neapolitan pizzas. On the menu? No less than 16 pizzas, including two calzone and two vegetarian like the tasty " Tullia ", composed of Fior di latte, black truffle, a delicious Burrata, mushrooms, and Grana Padano.

Also on the menu is the unmissable Margherita, made with a pasta matured for 48 hours and kneaded on site. For those who wish to discover less traditional flavors, opt for one of Chef Alfredo's creations, such as the " Gabriella ", which is made with a tomato sauce, milk flower, 16-month Parma ham PDO, Gorgonzola PDO, fig and walnut jam.... all made with multiple Italian products (Nduja, Spianata, Provolone piccante ...) sourced directly from the four corners of Italy (Puglia, Tuscany, Lombardy, Piedmont ...)

If you prefer pasta, Giovanna offers 5 proposals, including the generous and ultra gourmet plate of Mafalde with truffle with some shavings of truffle, truffle cream and Grana Padano. Otherwise, prefer the linguine with Pecorino and black pepper or the unavoidable Spaghetti alla Carbonara.

If you still have some room for a little sweetness, we strongly advise you to try the homemade tiramisu or the ricotta cheesecake, sublimated by a few lemon notes. A tangy and fresh dessert as we like it! Of course, Giovanna also makes other classics, like the famous ice creams or the famous affogato.
