After earning a coveted two-star rating from the Michelin Guide 2024, Maison Ruggieri, located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, closed its doors following the departure of Italian chef Martino Ruggieri. The restaurant's goal now is to reopen with the ambition of earning three stars.
And what ambitions, since it was Japanese chef Shintaro Awa who was tipped to take over from Martino Ruggieri. The former chef - for 13 years - of the Epicure restaurant at Le Bristol Paris would be supported by other Bristol chefs, as well as by Baudoin Arnould, former director of Le Taillevent, in the dining room and Xavier Thuizat in the wine cellar.
But while the long-awaited reopening was slated for February, Bouillantes reveals that it's shaping up to be more complicated than expected, with restaurateur Shamona Viallet putting the project on hold and the aforementioned team leaving. According to Bouillantes, Maison Ruggieri, or at least the restaurant at 11 rue Treilhard, could become a bistro in the coming year.
But according to Shamona Viallet, the address is and will remain a five-table gourmet restaurant , with a new chef.
On May 12, 2025, the blog Les Pieds dans le Plat reports that Maison Ruggieri is set to reopen soon, with a name change in the process. Now called Héritages, the restaurant will welcome chef Émilie Couturier (ex-Clarence, Taillevent) to its kitchens, alongside chef Arthur Dubois (Maison Dubois).
