Ça tourne: The Syndicat's new cocktail list
This Fall 2020, the Syndicat unveils its new cocktail list, still promoting French spirits and terroir. A menu revolving around seasons, flexibility and changeability of alcohols in every sense of the word...
This new list, called "Ça tourne" is presented in a praxinoscope, the ancestor of the cinematographer.
And new, basic recipes are the same all year long, highlighting the French know-how in terms of spirits and raw ingredients.
Even though basic alcohols for each cocktail does not change, the seasonal products enhancing them, such as fruits, vegetables, or mushrooms change with the seasons.
This Fall 2020, L'Eté Indien is based on passion fruit, JM agricultural rum (Martinique White Rum), Crème de Cartron blackcurrant and lemongrass. A foamy drink topped with a slice of charcoal-fried bread. under the mousse, we have a cocktail with delicate flavors, not too sweet, even though there is passion fruit.
As for La Feuille Verte, it mies Esprit de Bière Nusbaumer eau de vie and Jurançon. Yes, indeed, white wine. A cocktail served around a big ice cub (it melts slower) and where mertensia maritima (oyster leaf), has been delicately placed on top. A drink with Jurançon's nice golden dress, but the sweetness of the wine disappears and you can enjoy the slight bitterness of the eau de vie.
Moving on toe L'Appolinaire, it is a very creative and original cocktail like the Syndicat's cocktails. It mixes fermented clementine, raspberry eau de vie, Sauvignon (wine again), and egg. A foamy drink decorated with three coco candies (blue, white, and red), and it does not taste wine too much.
Ça tourne offers 12 cocktails. Knowing there are four seasons a year, Syndicat will now provide 48 different cocktail recipes every year.
If signature cocktails are worthy of haute gastronomy, they can be enjoyed in a very chilled and fuss-free atmosphere. No fuss, you are here to have a good time! To the sound of an old-school hip-hop playlist, we love this discreet and not so secret den!
What does this tenacious spot claim? Well, it defends French spirits. And to do so, the cocktail bar intends to surprise you with forgotten alcohols and passionate producers.
We must say that with all the quirky bars popping here and there in Paris, cocktail fans grow hard to be surprised. And yet, the challenge does not seem to scare the Syndicat dream team! Cotton candy-flavored helium bottle, sparkling candles, as many ways to make your eyes sparkle and your taste buds happy.
As we told you earlier, here, it is all about haute gastronomy cocktail style, but in a laid-back setting. Signature cocktails are named after hip-hop culture celebrities with humor. Behind their creation, French spirits, ingredients as local as possible, and everything is homemade, even ice!
We went for the Notorious G.R.A.P.E.S, a cocktail based on Cognac ABK6, Noilly Prat Ambré with grape marc, Blanche d’Armagnac Laubade, Vin d’Artois, licorice syrup and bitters. It is very balanced and light, the ideal drink for an aperitif. A bit sweet but nicely bitter and some gold powder swirling, it is a big yes for us!
Another star is the Explosive based on Noilly Prat Dry, Pastis, rhubarb, green tea, and dill. Served with a sparkling candle, made in tribute for Bastille Day, the cocktail is spectacularly served on your table. After being amazed and shot this mini and private firework show, just enjoy it. Very fresh, it has sour and herb-like hints, but is as sweet as a candy. We love it and it may reconcile some people with pastis.
In other words, Le Syndicat Cocktail Club definitely seduced us with its underground vibe, its hip-hop playlist, and its top cocktails. Flavors worthy of a starred-restaurant and the laid-back atmosphere of a local bar, we bet it will become your new HQ! And if you have a few coins in your pocket, you can also toss them to the ceiling!
