Since mid-October, a Parisian bar that keeps making the buzz on the web. Called Le Festin Nu [The Naked Feast], this establishment, open since early 2013 in Paris 18th arrondissement, decided to spice up the menu by offering to taste insects!

The brain behind this surprising and original concept, we find Elie Daviron, Le Festin Nu manager.

Holding a French version of the NVQ (CAP) and the HND (BTS) in catering – according to Le Monde – this young 26 years old wishes to “offer people a new gustative and gastronomic experience” the newspaper writes.

According to Eric, insects – mostly coming from Thailand – are a “source of protein even more ecofriendly than meat or fish”.

Delivered dry and dehydrated, grasshoppers, scorpions, worms, crickets, stink bugs, are offered by the piece from €7 to €9, with varied sides such as chicory leaves, confit bell peppers…

But careful, if Le Festin Nu is the first bar in Paris to offer such peculiar dishes, the establishment doesn’t want to make it its specialty… The bar also offers more traditional dishes such as burgers or smoked salmon without forgetting that Le Festin Nu offers cocktails, beers and other drinks to wash it all down…
