If I tell you gluten-free and lactose-free hotspot, you think about sad and plain dishes, right? Well, prepare for a shock! At Café Mareva, one eats healthy while enjoying very good food!

Forget all your prejudices about healthy food (too light, too plain, not tasty enough…) and go to Café Mareva in Paris 10th arrondissement.

Running this spot, Mareva Ranftl – who discovered a few years ago she was lactose intolerant. Financial analyst for a big American company, she’s decided to leave everything behind and open Café Mareva after a training in pastry.

So, at Café Mareva, there’s no lactose and no gluten but lots of delicious treats for a place that isn’t reserved for intolerants only! Actually, Mareva Ranftl wanted with this coffee shop to show everyone one can eat healthy while making their taste buds and stomachs happy.

On the menu then, we have healthy, vegetarian and vegan dishes… as well as dishes with meat! The star of the place is the sweet potato waffle, homemade, we enjoy as the “classic avocado”, the best seller (€11), or as an Italian version with pesto, parmesan and coppa (€12), chicken curry (€13) or event BLT (the famous dream team bacon, lettuce, tomato; €13).

All day long, at Café Mareva, gourmands and foodies can come and enjoy a brunch for a soft price (€22)! We browse the menu between classic savory and sweet waffles (€4-6). Fall for the hearty fried chicken waffle made in USA. Totally food porn!

Moreover, here, all toppings are homemade, from the peanut butter to praline via caramel and vegan whipped cream. Good food only!

For fans, Café Mareva also provides pancakes based on rice flour, avocado toasts (€9), eggs on toast, buddha bowls (€13), smoothie bowls (€9), gluten-free soups (€8), as well as a whole range of pastries, cakes and tarts of the day – homemade, obviously!

As for drinks, we hesitate between some tea from Brûlerie Belleville, fresh juice of the day (€4), homemade iced tea, homemade lemonade (€4)… We finally go for a cup of chai tea latte (€5) to get tons of energy!
