New brand developed by Marriott hotel group Moxy has opened its first hotel in Paris in January 2019, the 3-star Moxy Paris Bastille in the 11th arrondissement, in lieu of a Campanile hotel.
Very new in France, the Moxy brand is already present in Amsterdam, Milan, Berlin, London and even New York.
Moxy Paris Bastille – like the other Moxy hotels – is a hotel lifestyle. First of all, it aims at being a place of exchange. It has been designed to be a fun, laid-back, dynamic and young place. More than an average hotel, it has been thought up like a genuine place of life but not only, a place where you can stay overnight to rest.
In the very bright lobby, you can play games (chess, table soccer, wooden Connect Four…), have a pillow fights (the material is even put at your disposal) or even collapse on one of the many ottomans, sofas and armchairs. The décor is very nice and friendly.
Moxy Paris Bastille isn’t only for guests staying overnight. You can meet with friends to chat, sip a cup of coffee or a pre-dinner drink. Mobile workers can have a comfortable seat to work during the day (if ordering something at the bar). The Wi-Fi is free in the lobby and the bedrooms.
At Moxy, the bar is open every day until 2 a.m. You can sip cocktails, enjoy finger food… But a take-away service is also available 24/7 to satisfy all your little cravings and meet guests’ emergencies.
But Moxy is first and foremost a 185-bedroom hotel scattered on 7 floors and 4 categories. The particularity of Moxy bedrooms? They all are the same, only the size changes.
The décor is the same in all bedrooms: clean, simple but nice. Rooms are functional with beds at the same level as the television – a 49” screen featuring a Chromecast system so that you can watch anything you want from your smartphone or your tablet onto the TV. Furniture is simple, minimalist but everything is here so that you can feel good in Moxy Paris Bastille bedrooms.
Bathrooms feature a state-of-the-art shower and large mirrors.
Yet, for the sake of direct communication between guests and the staff, there’s no room service no landline phone in the rooms.
The night costs between €90 and €280 according to the duration of your stay and the size of the bedroom.
The rate doesn’t include breakfast. An all-you-can-eat buffet is charged €14.90 per guest and is also open to outdoor clients.
Each client of the hotel gets a welcome cocktail – with or without alcohol – when they arrive. A (charged) 15-spot parking lot will be soon available to Moxy hotel guests.
In the basement, you have all you need to iron clothes for free as well as a luggage locker.
Moxy terrace is currently under construction. This summer, come and play pétanque. Moxy also has a rooftop that will be used sooner or later for even more entertainments.
Stay tuned because Moxy Paris Bastille will soon provide exhibitions, parties… and many entertainments.
After Paris, Moxy will open new hotels in France, at the Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle airport, in Lyon, Lille, Bordeaux and Antibes. All these hotels are said to open by 2020.
