Italian cuisine lovers, Supernova has just opened in the upper Marais and you have to go there.
This new restaurant offers an Italian cuisine that is authentic and modern. But careful though, don’t expect to eat pizzas, Supernova has rather chosen to highlight sea produces in boss Sacha’s mother’s and grandmother’s recipes and both are Italian.
Once you’re done gazing at the lovely corrugated wooden ceiling, the very chic terrazzo floor and the large open-plan kitchen behind the long bar, we dive into the menu. What’s on it, then? A ton of pasta, mozzarella and seafood.
As a starter we go for the smooth and super creamy stracciatella (€11), the fresh starter of the day which is crab with citrus fruits served with seaweed espuma as well as panisses (€9), following the boss’s good words, those are chickpeas fries to dip in a lemony sauce that is almost perfect.
Moving on to main courses, we follow our hearts and go for fish and mozzarella (again!) by choosing the squid risotto (€24) perfectly seasoned with lemon and generous chunks of squid for our greatest joy; and the spaghetti with burrata and truffle (€20) we decide to enjoy without the additional speck ham, just to keep room for dessert.
And speaking of dessert, we order an affogato al caffè (€7.5), the famous ice cream drowned in espresso and topped with whipped cream; we also try the tiramisu della mamma (€7.5), once again, following the team’s good words since the tiramisu draws its originality in the dark chocolate chunks, based on Sacha’s mother’s recipe, which brings some very surprising crunch.
A Martini espresso and a Moscow Mule later, here we are ready to leave Supernova, impatiently waiting for the terrace to open on sunny days, and the launch of its weekly brunch, revisited with the Italian way, expected this Sunday!
