After delighting the rue d’Oberkampf, Dai Dai opens a second table this time set in the 10th arrondissement. The place to be if you want to enjoy an Italian aperitivo this summer 2019.
On the menu, we start with antipasti. Parma ham, Cerignola olives and parmesan, fennel dry sausage, spicy Calabrian dry sausage, (extra-creamy) burrata topped with truffle… Classics coming straight from Italy but always working.
Moving on to main courses, At Dai Dai, pizza is queen. A choice of 7 recipes is available such as the classic margherita, marinara or more original such as rotolino (a pizza rolled in filoncino), gonzo (with zucchinis) or even tartufo (with black truffle cream).
If you have the heart of an adventurer, you can create your own pizza. Choose your base (margherita or marinara for vegans), and add as many toppings you want: DPO gorgonzola, Parma ham, artichokes, Cetara anchovies, capers, arugula… It’s up to you!
As for us, we went for the Cotto (€15) based on San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte mozzarella, shredded ham, arugula, cherry tomatoes, parmesan shavings, we pimped up with mozzarella di buffala (€3); as well as the Bufala (San Marzano tomatoes, baked fior di lattemozzarella, smooth mozzarella di bufala, Taggiasche olives and basil; €14), on which we added artichokes!
The dough is tasty, well-cooked, and as thick as it could be, and ingredients are quality. Pizza lovers, don’t give it any second thoughts!
Last but not least, desserts. If you have some room left, you can choose between tiramisu, Napoletano rum baba and anello ripieno (a bun stuffed with Nutella).
A piece of advice, you want to arrive early for dinner as the terrace is small and gets crowded very quickly.
