The Aquarium de Paris Cinéaqua awaits you at the foot of the Trocadéro, in its pretty gardens. This historic aquarium houses 13,000 fish and 35 sharks in over 50 tanks. All year round, the aquarium offers activities for children, as well as scientific events not to be missed.

Did you know? TheAquarium de Paris was the world's first aquarium, built in 1867 for the Exposition Universelle. Since then, the Aquarium's mission has been to present the different ecosystems of the oceans, while educating young and old alike about the preservation of the marine world.

The tour is geographical, representing the biotopes of the Seine, the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, as well as Polynesia, the Caribbean and French Guiana.

Currently, over 13,000 fish and invertebrates from all the seas of France are represented in 10 different marine ecosystems and 43 different basins.

Among them are 38 great sharks, 700 coral colonies and 2,500 jellyfish of 50 different species, presented in a beautiful Medusarium.

Renovated in 2006, it offers visitors a real experience. For example, it boasts the largest shark tank in France, with 3 million liters. It also organizes shows for all, and offers brunches in front of exotic fish!

For children, theAquarium de Paris often offers exhibitions and shows featuring their favorite cartoon heroes. What's more, little ones are invited to take part in a wide range of workshops, and are even allowed to stroke Koi carp in a tank specially designed for their size.
