Paris Plages is coming this year again with hundreds of deckchairs, parasols, palmtrees, and dozens of entertainments near the Voie Georges Pompidou, in front of the Hôtel de Ville and the Bassin de la Villette for two months - July 6 to September 1, 2019.
Bassin de la Villette
Once again, Paris-Plages turns the Bassin de la Villette into a beach resort. Deckchairs, pétanque, fountains, animations and shows will be on the menu.
Opening hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Feel like going for a dive? Run to the swimming area of the Bassin de la Villette, set on Quai de la Loire to enjoy the 3 pools open for free, every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., from mid-June to September.
In addition to this swim, the Mairie de Paris offers several nautical entertainments such as bike-surf (?), as well as a digital area, the geek space that brings together new technologies such as Alpha 1 Pro, this 40-cm tall humanoid robot that moves like humans or Ozobots, the smallest programmable robots that are only 2.54cm high!
Paris-Plages 2019 on the Seine Riverbanks
On the right bank, in the Voie Georges Pompidou, under the palm trees, Paris-Plages offers us hundreds of deckchairs to relax, water misters, picnic tables, refreshment stalls, ice-cream makers, tai-chi sessions, dance workshops and a free library.
Paris-Plages 2019 in front of the City Hall
As part of Paris-Plage 2019, the City Hall becomes THE place to be with Festival Fnac Live. The festival provides free concerts from July 3 to 5, 2019. On the menu? Eddy de Pretto, Anna Calvi, Canine, Stephan Eicher, Agoria, Bertrand Belin, Bon Entendeur, Léonie Pernet...
Whether you are on the right bank or at the Bassin de la Villette, over 54,000 hours of leisure are waiting for you for 2 months from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. Scattered across the four venues, pop-up libraries and restaurants (sweet crepes for €5, main dish for €12 and ice-creams for €3) will be up so we can stay all day long without returning to the hustle and bustle of the Parisian life.
Reading a book, observing bateaux mouches, there is nothing better to unwind during the summer!
