The little videogame world of LEGO has never been better... After a port of LEGO Harry Potter in a version compiling the two games on PC and consoles, and after the unfailing success of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, the Danish firm, and above all Bandai Namco, which publishes the game, needed very little to offer a software already released on mobile, and available since September 2, 2022 on PC and consoles: LEGO Brawls!
A fighting and platforming game in the same vein as Super Smash Bros. that lets you battle it out with family and friends - or join forces, as you prefer - in fun and unforgettable games set in iconic LEGO universes. A local multiplayer mode, but also online, as you can challenge players from all over the world and try to knock them off the map to win the game.
A game we were able to test... And let's get straight to the point: those expecting an episode similar to the previous licensed adventures can skip it, since the gameplay here has absolutely nothing to do with a platform adventure game. It focuses exclusively on brawling, with the possibility of personalizing your avatar.
It's ideal for families, to introduce youngsters to video games, but that's where it stops, given the ultra-simplicity of in-game actions (you just have to tap your opponent, and nothing else... no combos or strategies to implement). However, character customization allows you to mix and match 14 specific themes, including four licenses: Jurrassic World, Ninja Go, Monkey Kid and Vidiyo. In all, according to the developers, 77 billion combinations are possible... That's no mean feat.
We also appreciate the quest to collect characters, which gives the game a little more life expectancy. Despite this, gamers will quickly tire of the game and move on, while ultra-fans and neophytes will linger a little longer to enjoy it. A good game, all the same, to introduce your children to the world of video games and play with them as a family.
