Do you live in Val-d'Oise and are you looking for the best almond galette in the department in 2026? Look no further! The best galette des rois in the 95 department in 2026 can be found in Taverny, according to a competition organized by the Val-d'Oise Chamber of Trades and Crafts.

This is a time of year that any sweet tooth wouldn’t miss for the world! I’m talking about sampling the legendary King’s Cake. For Epiphany, it’s a staple on many family tables. Whether original or traditional, the King’s Cakes delight both young and old with their irresistible flavors. Come 2026, the choices are so abundant it’s hard to decide which one to taste first. That’s why the Chamber of Trades and Crafts and the Fédération de la Boulangerie-Pâtisserie of 91/78/95 hold annual competitions to find the best King’s Cake. After those for the Greater Paris, the Essonne, and the Seine-et-Marne, it’s now time to reveal the winner of the Amanda’s Best King’s Cake 2026 in Val-d’Oise. This year’s contest saw over 60 hopefuls competing for the top spot!

Remember last year when the go-to spot was the bakery-pastry shop Aux 3 Petits Choux in L’Isle-Adam? Well, this January 2026, the place to be is Taverny if you want to indulge your sweet tooth. And the winner for this year’s top employer accolade is Maison Bunel, led by Patrick Bunel. A must-visit for lovers of frangipane — definitely a name to remember!

Patrick Bunel wascrowned on November 25, 2025, during a ceremony held in the Val-d'Oise department. This competition, which brings together artisans, employees, and apprentices every year, celebrates the expertise and creativity of the department's bakers and pastry chefs. More than 60 candidates competed this year, and the jury praisedthe technical excellence and refined taste of the creations presented.

The competition also recognized other promising talents. In the employee category, Vincent Sedille, from theBoulay bakery and pastry shopin Beaumont-sur-Oise, impressed the jury.

To taste the award-winning galette, head to Maison Brunel in Taverny. This must-visit destination for food lovers will delight your taste buds throughout the Epiphany season. A wonderful discovery to share with family or friends as you celebrate the kings by savoring the best of Val-d'Oise.
