Public transportation in Paris and Île-de-France: another week of disruptions from December 8 to 14, 2025. The metro, RER, Transilien, and tramway are experiencing interruptions on many RATP and SNCF lines due to maintenance and modernization work. We'll tell you everything you need to know.
Public transport in Paris and Île-de-France will continue to be affected by works this week from December 8 to 14, 2025. Lines are affected by maintenance and modernization works on the Île-de-France network. Metro, RER, Transilien, and tram: several RATP and SNCF lines will be disrupted, mainly in the evenings and on weekends. If you plan to travel in the capital or its suburbs, we advise you to check traffic conditions before leaving. Here is an overview of all planned disruptions.
Which metro and tram lines are affected this week?
As for the Paris metro, disruptions will be limited this week:

The situation is more complicated for the tramway:
- T1: service is partially suspended between Asnières-Quatre Routes and Gare de Saint-Denis, with disruptions on the rest of the line following damage caused by a third party at L'Île-Saint-Denis. Service is not expected to resume until summer 2026.

How can you plan for these disruptions?
In light of these disruptions, there are a few good habits to adopt. Before traveling, check the Bonjour RATP and SNCF Connect apps for real-time information. As the disruptions mainly affect evenings and weekends, if you are returning home late at night or have plans to go out this weekend, allow extra time or plan alternative routes. For lines with replacement buses, allow for an additional 20 to 30 minutes of travel time.
In short, this week from December 8 to 14, 2025, will continue to be marked by work on the Île-de-France network. The RATP and SNCF are taking advantage of this period to modernize and maintain their infrastructure, which will inevitably cause some inconvenience. But rest assured, most of the disruptions will occur in the evening after 9 p.m. and on weekends, thus avoiding rush hour. If you really need to travel late at night, don't hesitate to use the Noctilien bus lines, which continue to run throughout Paris and the Île-de-France region all night long.
