With the new edition of the Fête du Pain in Paris drawing nearer, department contests for the best traditional baguette are multiplying. After the Yvelines and the Seine-Saint-Denis, it’s now the Essonne’s turn to unveil the results of its 2026 contest edition.
For this 11th edition of the gourmet competition, the jury evaluated the baguettes from the bakeries of several Essonne-based artisans. To distinguish them, the jury considered multiple criteria such as appearance, bake, taste, crust, crumb, and the baguette’s aroma.
During a prize ceremony held in March, the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Essonne unveiled the names of the rewarded bakers, ranked across three main categories: apprentices, staff, and employers (business owners).
In this final category, the top prize for the best traditional baguette in Essonne 2026 goes to Anthony Beuchet of the bakery-pastry shop Le Fournil d'Autrefois in Étampes (85 rue de la République). He narrowly beats Mickaël Bedouet of the Boulangerie Bedouet in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois (4 rue Pierre Brossolette), followed by Vivien Bailleux of Maison Bailleux in Angerville (46 rue Nationale).
In the employees' category, Lucas Puyo from the bakery-pastry shop Les Petits Gourmands in Athis-Mons (Face À La Mairie, 2 Rue Valentin Conrart) climbs to the top of the podium.
Finally, Vincent Lasne-Lafont from La Boulange de Ballainvilliers takes top honors in the apprentice category.

Congratulations to the winners and to all the participants!
