As a safety measure, the RATP has announced that access to Tuileries station on metro line 1 will be closed on weekends at the end of the day and in the evening from November 22, 2025, to January 4, 2026. Here's why.

As the holiday season approaches, Christmas markets are popping up all over Paris and elsewhere in the Île-de-France region. And when it comes to Christmas markets, everyone has their own preferences. There is, of course, the Alsatian Christmas market at the Gare de l'Est for lovers of local products from the Grand Est region, but also the iconic Christmas market at Notre-Dame, the trendy Christmas market in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, and the Christmas market in Montmartre.

And of course, let's not forget the Tuileries Christmas market. Open until January 4, 2026, this Christmas market is the perfect opportunity to do some shopping and perhaps find that special gift to surprise your loved ones. But this event is also a chance to have fun on the various rides. Since 2018, this Christmas market has attracted large numbers of curious visitors and regulars, eager to share the magic of Christmas with friends and family.

Every year, large numbers of people from the Paris region and Paris rush to the Tuileries Gardento enjoy the holiday season. As a safety measure, the RATP has announced that it will close access to the Tuileries station, located on metro line 1, for seven consecutive weekends.

Specifically, access to the Tuileries station will be closed on weekends from 4:00 p.m. to 11:45 p.m., from November 22, 2025, to January 4, 2026. This information is provided by the RATP on its website.

It should be noted that in 2023, the RATP had no choice but to urgently close access to Tuileries station on December 25 due to " exceptional crowds." As was the case last year, the Régie autonome des transports parisiens is therefore anticipating these potential crowds by closing access to Tuileries station every weekend from 4:00 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. between November 22 and January 4.
