Good news for Parisians: Île-de-France Mobilités is going to increase the frequency of its metro services at weekends! Over the past few months, ridership has been on the rise in the evenings and at weekends, so Valérie Pécresse has asked the RATP to increase the frequency of service from morning to evening, starting with a few lines in the first half of 2025, before rolling it out to all lines. Lines 5, 9 and 12 will be the first to benefit!
Since March 8, the enhanced service has already begun on line 12, with a 4% increase in subway frequency. Lines 5 and 9 will have to wait a little longer, with a 5% and 8% increase in frequency from the beginning of May on Sundays and from June on Saturdays. Reinforcements are also planned for line 11 from September, and are currently being studied for lines 2, 3, 7 and 8, for implementation in 2026.
Note that on line 5, the service will also be strengthened from October 2025 on weekdays, between 6pm and the end of service.
