On the occasion of the Bread Festival, Clément Poncet took first prize on May 10 in the 2026 competition for the best traditional baguette in Île-de-France – Greater Paris. His winning baguette can be found and savored in Rosny-sous-Bois, Seine-Saint-Denis.

Since May 8, the Notre-Dame de Paris forecourt has been hosting a vast pop-up bakery. The Bread Festival is back there until May 17, offering demonstrations, activities, tastings and discoveries, alongside the many artisan bakers taking part in the event.

But the Bread Festival is also highlighted by several contests and prize-giving ceremonies, including the award for the best traditional French baguette in the Île-de-France region.

On Sunday, May 10, the forecourt of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris hosted the second leg of this Île-de-France competition, this time featuring skilled bakers from Paris, the Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and the Val-de-Marne. So, who won this 2026 edition of the "best traditional French baguette in Île-de-France – Grand Paris" contest?

After sampling the various baguettes offered for the occasion, the jury named Clément Poncet, the grand winner of this 2026 edition. The baker from Les Caprices de Maelle in Rosny-sous-Bois (93) thus takes the top spot on the podium.

In second place is Dylan Delmaire of the Maison Laigneau, based in Vaucresson, in the Hauts-de-Seine. Finally, Franck Harcaut, from the Boulangerie Bleue in Rueil-Malmaison (92), finished third in the competition for the best traditional French baguette in Île-de-France - Grand Paris.
