This May 1, 2026, Labor Day, a large protest organized by the union umbrella is taking place in the streets of Paris. The result? RATP has announced the closure of several metro stations. Here’s what you need to know about the four metro lines and the 11 stations affected by the disruptions.

This Friday marks the Labor Day! For many, it means a three-day long weekend, while others take to the streets for the traditional May Day march. Every year, the inter-union coalition calls on people to hit the streets to defend workers’ rights.

This Friday, May 1, 2026, the procession is due to kick off at 2 p.m. from the Place de la République, in Paris’s 11th arrondissement, and will head to the Place de la Nation in the 12th. To ensure the event proceeds smoothly, the Police Prefecture has issued an order temporarily altering the parking along several streets along the route.
