If you regularly travel across Paris from north to south via line 13, you’ll need to plan ahead. Local industrial action will disrupt service on Friday, April 24, 2026. RATP warns that disruptions will affect the entire line throughout the day, with two out of every three trains running.

On a line that is already overcrowded under normal conditions, the slightest hiccup can turn a journey into a real challenge. The “final service level” (in other words, the number of metros that will actually run) was announced at 5 p.m. on Thursday. While things look difficult for passengers, the forecasts could have been worse. If you regularly use this line to get home or to work, work from home if you can, or consider surface alternatives such as the bus or a bike.
Note that buses serving part of line 13, and especially line 14, are likely to be swamped by passengers stranded by this lightning strike. Even though minimum service will be provided during rush hour, waiting on the platforms could quickly become uncomfortable if trains are crowded, and passengers may have to let several trains pass before they can board.
