Karsh, 50, is a successful businessman. Inconsolable since the death of his wife, he invents a revolutionary and controversial system, GraveTech, which allows the living to connect with their loved ones in their shrouds. One night, several graves, including his wife's, are vandalized. Karsh sets out to find the culprits.

He returned in 2012 to present Cosmopolis, adapted from the novel by Don DeLillo, then in 2014 with Maps to the Stars, for which Julianne Moore won the Best Actress Award. Finally, in 2022, he presented his futuristic thriller Crimes of the Future at Cannes, which went home empty-handed.
