The Sun King's lost gardens: a virtual reality experience at the Château de Versailles

From March 25, 2025 to January 4, 2026, the Château de Versailles invites you to discover its former splendor as if you were there, in a virtual reality experience. Immerse yourself in the heart of the palace's incredible gardens, which disappeared in the 17th century, and explore the past during the reign of the Sun King , discovering these now-forgotten spaces through interactive elements.

GEDEON Experiences, Small Creative, VIVE Arts and the Château de Versailles have teamed up to immerse visitors in this scientific and artistic reconstitution for almost 25 minutes, developed using archival documents, testimonials from Versailles experts and archaeological remains, then brought to life by cutting-edge technology and HTC's VIVE Focus Vision mobile headsets.

Guided by André Le Nôtre, Louis XIV's landscape gardener, explore three mythical sites at the château: the Ménagerie Royale, the Labyrinth grove and the Grotte de Téthys, all of which played a crucial role in building Louis XIV's historical legacy, and reflect the extent to which nature and entertainment were at the heart of power and life at court. A journey through time and French heritage brought to life with the help of technology, accessible from age 8.
