A quintessentially fun and family-friendly event, the Vélotour is back this Sunday, August 30, 2026, but not in the streets of the capital. After Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines last year, the event is celebrating the heritage of the Olympic Games, by roaming on a bicycle on two wheels along the landmarks that marked our summer of 2024.
Thousands of cyclists will have the chance to discover an unconventional route that highlights around ten sites spanning history, culture and sport, thanks to spots that are usually off-limits to bikes! The program features 16 to 19 km of family-friendly riding with the only requirements being a bicycle and, above all, a good mood, starting at the Cité du Cinéma!
Cross the Olympic Aquatic Center, walk along the perimeter of the Stade de France, start from the athletes’ canteen in the Olympic Village, cross the Saint-Denis–Pleyel Footbridge, and explore the Stade du Docteur Bauer, which has long served as a training ground for football teams.
In addition to the standard route, an optional extra 3km loop is on offer for those craving a bit more challenge, featuring the Neubauer Village - Multibrand Automobile Hub and the Pleyel Bus Operations Center - RATP Cap Boucle Nord de Seine. You can choose from three start-time windows, from 9 a.m. to noon, which must be strictly followed to avoid traffic.
Feel free to come in costume and dive into the festive vibe, with prizes for the best outfits. Children can join on their little bikes, or ride with you in a child seat or in a wagon! At the halfway point and at the village, you’ll find a tasty break, but you’re also welcome to bring your own picnic.
So, ready to pedal?
