Watching the start of the final stage of the Tour de France remains an event in its own right! This year, the kick-off takes place from the Yvelines, in Thoiry, on July 26, 2026. Whether you’re a cycling enthusiast or simply curious, it’s a moment not to miss if you live nearby! A day packed with free activities from early morning, followed by the live broadcast on a giant screen and the presentation of the riders.
At 4:15 p.m., it's the start gun! The Tour de France riders will enjoy a scenic opening stretch through the heart of the Yvelines before heading for Paris. Giant screens will let you watch the action live as it’s broadcast on TV, as if you were in the peloton.
Before the start, don’t miss the advertising caravan, if you want to grab a keepsake from a past Tour de France in your town! Dozens of vehicles and floats will parade along the route from 1:50 p.m., ahead of the riders, who will be introduced starting at 3:00 p.m.
If you're up for morning activities, you can also close the day with a concert followed by an outdoor cinema screening of the film "Donne-moi des ailes", presented by the department. Meet at Rue du Pavillon de Montreuil, near the Château de Thoiry to experience the tour's final day!
