Want to try Pilates in a peaceful, pressure-free environment? At BRUME, not far from Place de la Nation, group classes are for women only, in one of those modern studios that focus on well-being and me-time.
Designed by Chloé and her team—including the adorable Yellow, the canine mascot who adds a little extra life to the welcoming space—the studio offers Pilates reformer, hot Pilates, and cold bath sessions after your workout.
Decorated in orange tones and inspired by the aesthetics of the 70s and 80s, BRUME is divided into several areas. You enter through the coffee shop, where you can enjoy a comforting hot or cold drink, which is important for hydration and recovery after exercise.
From classic espresso, latte, matcha, or chai tea to protein and gourmet shakes and cold-pressed juices packed with vitality, the menu is designed to be healthy, with options to add collagen, spirulina, or a lemon-ginger shot.
In the basement, where participants work out during hot Pilates, a room heated to 35 degrees and bathed in warm light welcomes small groups of athletes, with only eight mats, for intense classes with variations such as prenatal Pilates or Hot Power Flow.
Above that, with a maximum of eight people on the machines, you train at your own pace, guided by coaches who can offer you a quasi-private class and take care of your posture, under soft lighting.
The changing room is unlike any other, because while you can obviously take a shower before going to work or heading home, and even straighten or curl your hair if necessary, it is a small glass-enclosed area that catches the eye.
There is an ice bath, an invigorating cold bath after sweating during your Pilates session, ideal for boosting recovery for 10 minutes, available by reservation. Please note, however, that there are contraindications for this type of experience, particularly in cases of cardiovascular disease or blood circulation problems.
This is a great way to get started with these two types of Pilates if you live or work nearby, as BRUME is open Monday through Sunday, with convenient hours, especially if you like to exercise early in the morning before work, during your lunch break, or from 5 to 9 p.m., as there are no classes in the afternoon, for example.
Expect to pay €35 for a Pilates session and €25 for a cold bath, with preferential rates available for multiple sessions.
