Unfortunately, French clubs didn't make it past the group stages of the Champions League, with the exception of the steadfast Paris Saint-Germain. The Parisian team, which won the tournament for the first time last season, managed to advance past Monaco after a tough match. They are now back in the round of 16 and will face a familiar foe: an English club, Chelsea. The two sides will meet on March 11 at the Parc des Princes and again on March 18 in London — the stakes are high as whoever wins will advance to the quarter-finals!
After a promising start to the season reminiscent of last year, Paris Saint-Germain experienced a few setbacks, suffering some defeats and draws that forced them into the qualifying rounds. Having overcome that hurdle, the Parisians faced a choice between FC Barcelona and Chelsea — and in the draw, it was the English club that was selected. Chelsea then continued their hot streak, knocking PSG out during the Club World Cup scheduled for summer 2025.
The Parisians are clearly eager to get their revenge! Last season, they managed to beat every English club except one, so it's definitely a team to watch out for in these two upcoming matches, even though they’re currently sitting in fifth place in the Premier League.
If they win, PSG will face either Liverpool or Galatasaray in the quarter-finals come April. Kick-off is at 9 PM on Canal+ or you can catch the action at sports bars across the capital!
