The Boulogne-Billancourt Half Marathon returns for its 28th edition this Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 10 a.m. A rolling course between the city and the Bois de Boulogne, ideal for beating your personal best.

We're back in the Hauts-de-Seine for one of the most popular races of the end of the year. The Boulogne-Billancourt Half Marathon is once again a must on the runners' calendar with its 28th edition scheduled for Sunday, November 16, 2025. For nearly 30 years, this event has attracted runners looking to perform well, and the 2025 edition is no exception, with 12,000 participants expected.

It's simple: the bibs sold out in just a few weeks when registration opened in June 2025. This is a real success for this event, which was previously limited to 10,000 runners. This year, the enthusiasm is such that attendance is breaking records. And it's easy to see why: the ultra-fast course with no major difficulties makes the Boulogne-Billancourt half marathon the perfect opportunity to improve your personal best before the end of the calendar year.

What is the route of the Boulogne-Billancourt Half Marathon?

The race will start at 10 a.m. sharp at 117 Avenue Victor Hugo. To ensure a smooth start with so many participants, eleven waves will be organized, including three reserved for elite athletes. Performance-based starting pens will allow everyone to position themselves according to their time goals.

The course offers a first loop through the streets of Boulogne-Billancourt, allowing runners to find their rhythm. You will pass iconic landmarks such as the Town Hall, the Seine Musicale, and the Albert Kahn Museum with its sublime gardens. Once you have found your cruising speed, head to the Bois de Boulogne for a second loop in this green setting. You will run alongside the Longchamp racecourse before returning to the city to reach the finish line, located at the same place as the start. A course that combines Parisian architecture and nature, with only 79 meters of elevation gain.

The course, certified silver by the French Athletics Federation, even offers the possibility of qualifying for the French Championships in the discipline. Better still, it is adapted for disabled athletes, making it a truly inclusive event.

What can you expect from this 28th edition?

The atmosphere promises to be electric with 12,000 runners at the starting line. This year's Boulogne-Billancourt Half Marathon has a female participation rate of 31.5% (compared to 28% last year), a sign that running continues to grow in popularity among all genders.

Pacers will be on hand to help you achieve your goals, and liquid and solid refreshments will be available along the route. In an eco-friendly spirit, the organizers have chosen to connect to the city's water network to offer zero plastic bottle refreshments. Solid refreshments will focus on local products and food considered "non-standard" to combat waste.

How to participate in the Boulogne-Billancourt Half Marathon?

Unfortunately, if you haven't registered yet, it's too late. All 12,000 bibs have already been sold, proof of the success of this event organized by Playground in collaboration with the city of Boulogne-Billancourt and the ACBB. Bibs can be picked up at the Gymnase de la Biodiversité, located at 44 rue Marcel Bontemps.

To participate, you must be at least 18 years old in the calendar year. Since September 2024, a medical certificate is no longer required for non-licensed runners, replaced by a Health Prevention Course (PPS) available on the FFA website. The maximum time to complete the race is set at 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Who are the favorites for this year's race?

With no real international headliners, the organizers are banking on a local field. But the history of the Boulogne half marathon is also fueled by its records. In the men's race, Kenyan Franklin Chepkony still holds the best time with a 1:00:11 set in 2013. In the women's race, Ethiopia's Rehima Tusa has held the record of 1:08:28 since 2017. A bonus will be awarded to anyone who manages to beat these reference times.

Last year, the 2024 edition attracted 10,850 finishers, confirming the Boulogne-Billancourt Half Marathon's place among the three largest half marathons in France. In short, this Sunday, November 16, head to the streets of Boulogne for one last challenge of the calendar year. Whether you're aiming for a personal best or simply the thrill of a great race, this half marathon has it all.
