Iron Maiden at Paris La Défense Arena in 2026: who will be the opening act?

Iron Maiden fans who attended theconcert on July 19 at Paris La Défense Arena still remember it well. During the approximately two-hour show, the British band delivered an ultra-dynamic set marked by a slew of good old hits, notably from "Killers," "The Number of the Beast," and "Powerslave." 

In 2026, Iron Maiden will be back with a new series of shows celebrating their 50-year career. For this return to the capital, the English band has decided to once again take over the Paris La Défense Arena. The concert will take place on June 22, 2026, and will be filmed.

Remember, in 2025, the British band invited the Swedesfrom Avatar. So, who has been chosen for their next Paris concert? Who will have the honor of opening for Iron Maiden on June 22, 2026, at Paris La Défense Arena? 

Iron Maiden has unveiled the bands that will be joining them next summer on their European tour, entitled "Run For Your Lives World Tour 2026." While Anthrax will be the opening act for Iron Maiden in Athens, Bucharest, and Lyon, Megadeth will be opening for the British band in Hanover. Trivium has been invited to heat things up in Milan. And in Paris? The Swedishband Evergrey has been chosen as the opening act.

Formed in 1993, Evergrey is a progressive metal band from Gothenburg. The band now consists of singer Tom S. Englund, who has been with the band since the beginning, Johan Niemann on bass, Rikard Zander on keyboards,Henrik Danhage on guitar, and Jonas Ekdahl on drums. 

After their first album, "The Dark Discovery," released in 1998, Evergrey went on to release a string of albums, including "Solitude, Dominance, Tragedy" in 1999, "In Search of Truth" in 2001, "Recreation Day" in 2003, and "The Inner Circle" in 2004. The Swedish band's latest album, "Theories Of Emptiness," was released in 2024. 

In the summer of 2026, Evergrey will have the immense honor of opening for Iron Maiden at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and then at Paris La Défense Arena. This will be an opportunity to (re)discover this Swedish band live, with both old and new songs.
