Looking for an authentic family festival with free entertainment in Seine-et-Marne at the end of August? The Au Bon Coin festival returns to Thomery from August 22 to 24, 2025 to celebrate its tenth anniversary with an eclectic program mixing street theater, concerts and entertainment for young and old. Organized by the Pas Trop Loing de la Seine association, this cultural event is a must-see, just an hour from Paris.
The village of Thomery, nestled in a loop of the Seine on the edge of the Fontainebleau forest, offers an idyllic setting for this summer event. Famous for its vine walls and the golden chasselas that once graced the kings of France, this "Village de caractère" (village of character) welcomes this multi-disciplinary festival in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
What's special about this tenth edition? Free shows are offered each day before the official opening of the festival, in various emblematic Thomery venues. On Friday August 22 at 6pm, the company Les Batteurs de Pavés presents "Les Misérables", a street theater show for children aged 6 and over, on Place Greffulhe in front of the church. On Saturday August 23 at 2.30pm, head for the port of Thomery to discover "Les impavides bretons" by Cie La Mandale, a puppet show for children aged 7 and over. Finally, on Sunday August 24 at 2pm, head for the stade Bezou for the last free show before the festival opens in the Parc de la Salle de la Plage.
The Au Bon Coin festival focuses on artistic diversity, with a program that gives pride of place to street arts, circus, theater and concerts. This tenth edition promises a particularly rich program: children's activities, participatory costume workshops, quality shows for all ages, an energetic brass band, festive entertainment and an exceptional closing show on Sunday. The atmosphere is resolutely family-friendly and accessible, with special rates and facilities for people with reduced mobility. This anniversary year naturally adopts the festive theme, promising a memorable weekend. Full program available at pastroploingdelaseine.fr.
The organizers have thought of everything to turn this weekend into a real "échappée belle". On site, you'll find a refreshment bar serving local craft beers, and food-trucks focusing on organic and local produce. For those who wish to extend the experience, a free camping site has been set up in a park 50 meters from the festival, complete with water point and dry toilets. Tents are allowed, but vehicles are not, in order to respect the peace and quiet of local residents.
The association Pas Trop Loing de la Seine, which has been recognized as being of general interest since 2019, is committed to developing cultural activities in southern Seine-et-Marne. In addition to this flagship festival, it organizes the traveling "Au Coin des Rues" festival and supports other cultural events in the region. This approach is in line with our desire to promote rural areas and democratize access to culture, in the spirit of the department's many free festivals.
Thomery is an ideal destination for combining festival and heritage discovery. Close to the Château de Fontainebleau (6 km) and the medieval town of Moret-sur-Loing (4 km), the village offers many opportunities for strolling between the famous vineyard walls of Les Longs Sillons, listed as a Historic Monument, and the banks of the Seine that inspired the Impressionists. The Château de Rosa Bonheur, former home of the famous animal painter, completes this bucolic picture.
The Au Bon Coin 2025 festival runs from Friday August 22 (6pm-1am) to Sunday August 24, at the Parc de la Salle de la Plage in Thomery. Tickets are now available on site only, as pre-sales are now closed. Further information at pastroploingdelaseine.fr or 07 82 42 79 77.
