Here's an exhibition that should appeal to lovers of photography and polar landscapes. For its new installation, Le Bicolore invites Inuuteq Storch to occupy its space for around two months. Visit us from September 19 to November 23, 2025, to discover the images taken by this Inuit photographer in the free exhibition " Guardiens de l'Océan" (Guardians of the Ocean ) .
Inuuteq Storch, who represented Denmark at the 60th Venice Art Biennale in 2024, will transport us to the lands of Greenland, his homeland.
Greenland has long fascinated explorers, not only for its sublime snow-covered landscapes and the incredible Ilulissat Fjord, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004, but also for its rich culture. Today, however, the country has to contend with global warming. According to the scientific journal " Nature ", the Arctic is warming four times faster than the rest of the world, considerably threatening the Inuit way of life. Last June, the scientific network World Weather Attribution (WWA) sounded the alarm, revealing that ice in Greenland had melted 17 times faster than the historical average between May 15 and 21, 2025.
This autumn, Inuit photographer Inuuteq Storch invites us to discover his Greenland. Exhibiting a selection of images from his"Keepers of the Ocean","Soon Will Summer Be Over" and"Anachronism" series, Inuuteq Storch deconstructs dominant narratives and preconceived ideas about Greenland. He delivers a personal, intimate and political reading of his environment and heritage.
To discover the " Guardians of the Ocean " exhibition, visit Le Bicolore from September 19 to November 23, 2025. As always, admission is free. Le Bicolore is the contemporary art platform of the Maison du Danemark. Throughout the year, the space hosts a variety of events, including exhibitions and meetings.
