Paris Design Week returns from September 4 to 13, 2025, to spread its creative thread across the capital! For ten days, Paris becomes a veritable open-air workshop where design and decoration are exhibited in all their forms. Furniture, fashion, architecture and new technologies come together in a patchwork ofexhibitions, conferences, workshops and art installations, often free of charge, in surprising and inspiring locations - from contemporary art galleries to ephemeral showrooms, to hidden and little-known spots in the capital.
To mark thedesign event, the Colonne de Juillet on Place de la Bastille is hosting an artistic installation for the first time in the inner rotunda of its marble base! Galerie Maison Parisienne unveils "Coraux de la Liberté", a textile work by French artist Aude Franjou. Woven forms, suspended in space, evolve from brilliant white to intense red, like a gradation of life, a breath of freedom.
A monument erected on Napoleon I's initiative in 1806 to celebrate the arrival of water in Paris, and finally completed in 1840 as a tribute to the July Revolution of 1830, the Colonne is exceptionally open to design enthusiasts - in addition to its usual weekend openings - with a simple free reservation. An unprecedented encounter between heritage and contemporary creation, where design becomes a textile manifesto at the very heart of history.
