For its next exhibition, the Paris Bourse de Commerce intends to immerse visitors in a reflection between the visible and the invisible. "Clair-obscur", on view from March 4 to August 31, 2026, will transform the sublime Parisian monument into a luminous, twilight landscape.
For the occasion, the work of some twenty modern and contemporary artists from the Pinault Collection will be on show. All of them will unveil works that traverse the heritage of the famous chiaroscuro, so characteristic of painting since the 16th century.
As the contemporary artist observes his era in order to perceive its darkness, the"Clair-obscur" exhibition explores this reflection through a selection of works that reveal themselves in a play of light and shadow.
Visitors will be able to admire creations by Romanian painter Victor Man and Bill Viola, known for his architectural video installations. In the Rotonde, the Bourse de Commerce will present "Camata" (2024), the masterpiece by French contemporary artist Pierre Huyghe.
At the same time, the Parisian cultural landmark is offering carte blanche to Laura Lamiel. In the twenty-four windows of the Passage de la Bourse de Commerce, she will be exhibiting a series of works created specifically for the occasion.
With this new exhibition, the Bourse de Commerce intends to demonstrate that chiaroscuro is not just a traditional painting technique, but also a visual language that never ceases to renew itself.
