[IN]IMAGINABLE at Fluctuart: dive into the imagined worlds born from lowbrow and pop surrealism

This autumn, the Fluctuart houseboat in Paris invites you to dive into the imaginations born of lowbrow and pop surrealism. From September 10 to December 20, 2026, discover "[IN]IMAGINABLE," a new free exhibition spotlighting works by Amandine Urruty, Benjamin Lacombe, Stom500, Veks Van Hillik, and Ador.

Well known to urban art enthusiasts, the barge Fluctuart hosts, throughout the year, free exhibitions. After installations dedicated to Toqué Frères, Levalet, JonOne or the many facets of the cats, the floating urban art center moored near the Pont Alexandre III invites you to dive into the imaginations born from lowbrow and pop surrealism.

Entitled "[IN]IMAGINABLE", this new free exhibition aims to immerse visitors in these two art movements that « s’inscrivent en marge des circuits artistiques traditionnels », says Pascaline Mazac, the exhibition curator. For the less familiar, note that lowbrow emerged from American countercultures of the late 1970s, fed by comics, cartoons, Kustom Kulture, skateboarding, punk-rock music, B-movies, and tattooing. The pop surrealism meanwhile sits at the crossroads of the fantastic, the grotesque, and the wondrous.

By tracing their origins, influences, and contemporary extensions through a selection of works, iconic objects, and installations in situ, the exhibition "[IN]IMAGINABLE" will thus be an opportunity to learn more about these two fascinating artistic movements.

On view from September 10 to December 20, 2026, "[IN]IMAGINABLE" will showcase original works and artist editions by major names such as Ron English, Ador, Todd Schorr, Jeff Soto, Travis Louie, Tara McPherson and Dave Cooper. Fluctuart also announces immersive installations by invited contemporary artists, including Amandine Urruty, Benjamin Lacombe, Marco Mazzoni, Stan Manoukian, Stom500 and Veks Van Hillik.
