Journées de l'Architecture 2026 : visit to Auguste Perret's Chana Orloff studios

National Architecture Days offer a chance to dive into the heart of the buildings and monuments that line Paris and its surrounding area. For one weekend, guided tours, workshops, and family-friendly activities open to everyone free of charge await you on October 17 and 18, 2026, inviting you to discover heritage—whether classic or modern, crafted in stone or concrete.

To visit theAtelier-Musée Chana Orloff is to plunge into the world of an extraordinary woman artist. A renowned sculptor, this Russian immigrant arrived in France in the early 20th century and made her mark in a predominantly male artistic world. The studio is her former home and workplace, retaining a warm, intimate atmosphere in the heart of Paris's 14th arrondissement. Here you can admire a collection of her works, the story of her life, her inspirations and her contribution to modern art.

The 2026 Architecture Days program at the Chana Orloff workshops

Chana Orloff's Studio-Residence by Auguste Perret
In 1926, sculptor Chana Orloff commissioned architect Auguste Perret to build this house. It would be the first mid-sized atelier-residence Perret designed. Orloff knew him well, having met him in 1916 and even had her portrait painted by him in 1923.

The visit to the Chana Orloff Atelier-Musée reveals nearly 200 sculptures displayed in both the exhibition studio and the working studio. It also allows visitors to appreciate the distinctive spaces Perret created for Orloff in 1926. An intimate and moving setting, this residence-studio proudly carries the label “Maisons des Illustres.”
