After several months' work over the past 5 years to transform the site into a demonstrator of sustainable agricultural practices, the Ferme de Paris has become an emblematic site of agricultural production and awareness of sustainable food, a model of agroecology that reopened to the public this summer 2025. Located in the Bois de Vincennes and open since 1989, it welcomes some 50,000 visitors every year.
The farm now has a farmhouse and a more visible entrance for walkers in the Bois. To support the region's ecological and food transition, Ferme de Paris is deploying an agricultural test area, welcoming hardy conservation breeds such as the Ouessant ewe, the ditch goat or the Gascon pig to preserve agricultural biodiversity, and offering educational areas illustrating the principles of agroecology, such as the garden of proportions or the living soil crops, adapted to the youngest visitors.
On August 27, 28 and 29, 2025, as all summer long, the public will be able to take part in a wide range of educational and entertaining activities focusing on sustainable agriculture and food, with opportunities for young and old alike to discover how cereals are transformed from grain to flour, to make their own smoothies while pedaling, to feed the animals and to enjoy the farm market, selling products grown on site.
How can water resources be used sustainably? What are the benefits of ponds in agro-ecology?
Every Wednesday during the summer, from July 16 to Wednesday August 27, the Ferme de Paris team invites you to discover the farm and the farmer's work with the animals by taking part in his daily activities: taking the animals out, observing their behavior, feeding them and cleaning their bowls are all activities you can take part in.
This summer, take part in a market garden workcamp and learn how to maintain a vegetable garden, and discover agro-ecological practices in market gardening during participative workcamps. What are the best ways to maintain a vegetable garden this season? What are the best ways to conserve water?
In addition, once a month Ferme de Paris offers participative workcamps in the nourishing forest to introduce you to permaculture. Permaculture, a veritable philosophy of life, is inspired by living organisms to reproduce virtuous ecosystems. Join us on Friday, September 12 , from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., by reservation only!
